Ashley Phillips, the Tottenham defender currently on loan at Stoke City, has pulled out of England’s Under-20 squad for their upcoming fixtures against Germany and Poland. The 19-year-old had been set to feature in the matches but has been sidelined by an “unspecified injury.”

The injury occurred during his recent league appearance, where Phillips was forced off early in Stoke’s 1-1 draw with Millwall. While the exact nature of the injury remains unclear, it is believed to be related to his shoulder.

Since joining Stoke, Phillips has earned a regular starting spot under manager Narcis Pelach after initially struggling for game time. His strong performances for the Potters earned him an international call-up, but now, he faces a race to recover in time for Stoke’s upcoming Championship match against QPR on November 23.
