The England squad spent the morning planning a special surprise, hanging a large banner at the entrance that read “Happy Birthday Trent.”

Real Madrid superstar Jude Bellingham was cleverly hidden behind the banner, jumping out to wish Trent a happy birthday. He then playfully teased Trent about how he had called and texted him to arrive earlier, as they had to wait over 20 minutes for him to show up.

The friendship between Jude and Trent has blossomed since their first match for England, and their bond has frequently been showcased on social media.

Since his debut on October 25, 2016, against Tottenham in the League Cup, Trent has established himself as one of the Premier League’s most successful defenders. He has won two major trophies with Liverpool, including the Champions League in 2019, when they triumphed over Tottenham 2-0 in the final, and the Premier League title in the 2020-21 season, where the Reds achieved a club record of 99 points.

In 319 appearances, the England full-back has scored 18 goals and provided 81 assists, making him the defender with the most assists in Premier League history, tied with his Liverpool teammate Andrew Robertson, who also has 59 assists.

Under new manager Arne Slot, Alexander-Arnold has been a key player this season, starting every match except for the Carabao Cup game against West Ham, where the Liverpool boss opted to rest him.

His future at Anfield remains uncertain, with his contract expiring in the summer of 2025. Several European clubs have expressed interest in him, with Real Madrid being the most serious contender, especially with Dani Carvajal sidelined for the entire season.

Jude Bellingham’s influence is believed to play a significant role in Trent’s decision-making, given their close friendship. In a recent interview, Trent stated that discussions with Liverpool’s board will remain private until a final decision is reached.

Next up for Trent Alexander-Arnold is the National League match against Greece, where he is expected to be a starter under newly appointed England manager Lee Carsley.
