According to a report by Defensa Central via the Hard Tackle, German champions Bayern Munich are ready to battle with Spanish giants Real Madrid for the transfer of Chelsea captain Reece James.

Real Madrid are desperate to sign a new right-back next summer and have made James a priority but they face competition from Bayern Munich.

James, 23, has featured in a total of 148 matches for the Blues since becoming a first-team player in 2019. He played an integral role as Chelsea won the Champions League in 2021 and was made captain this summer.

James’s contract at Chelsea runs until the summer of 2028.
