Pep Guardiola Delivers Bold Verdict on Conor Bradley After Man City’s 3-0 Win Over Liverpool

Despite Liverpool starting the second half on a stronger note, the outcome remained unchanged as Jeremy Doku—named Man of the Match by Gary Neville after just 62 minutes—capped off a superb performance with a curling right-footed strike past Gianluigi Donnarumma. Pep Guardiola hailed Conor Bradley as “one of the best full-backs in the Premier League” after the 22-year-old impressed despite Liverpool’s fifth league defeat of the season—already one more than they suffered in the entire 2024/25 campaign. While Ibrahima Konaté, Florian Wirtz, and Ryan Gravenberch came under fire for underwhelming displays, Bradley stood out for his resilience against City’s standout performer, Doku.

The Northern Irishman completed 83 minutes, recording eight defensive actions (including three tackles and three interceptions), winning half of his aerial duels and over half of his ground duels. With 69 touches, three coming inside City’s box, he also offered an attacking outlet.

Guardiola praised Bradley’s pace and defensive awareness, referencing his display against Vinícius Júnior earlier in the week. Liverpool captain Virgil van Dijk also acknowledged Bradley’s effort in his post-match comments, admitting the team struggled to cope with City’s first-half dominance but noting that Bradley battled well in his one-on-one duels despite Doku’s form.

According to The Mirror, Van Dijk added, “Doku had a good game and it was difficult for Conor at times, but we weren’t in too much trouble overall—we just could’ve done better.”

With Trent Alexander-Arnold now at Real Madrid and Jeremie Frimpong still settling in, Bradley appears set to become Arne Slot’s first-choice right-back. After the November international break, Liverpool will host Nottingham Forest and PSV Eindhoven before a trip to West Ham United.
