Liverpool forward Mohamed Salah has made an eye-catching move by removing all references to the club from his X (formerly Twitter) profile.

The Egyptian was left on the bench by manager Arne Slot during Liverpool’s 5–1 Champions League win over Eintracht Frankfurt, a result that ended their recent poor run of form.

Usually one of the first names on the team sheet, Salah has struggled to hit top gear this season, and Slot’s decision to drop him for key fixtures suggests a possible shift in hierarchy at Anfield.

That omission may not have sat well with the 33-year-old, who has now changed his X header and profile photo to one featuring his family — with no mention of Liverpool anywhere on his page.

Could this signal the beginning of the end for Salah at Anfield?

Salah was exceptional last season, delivering one of his best campaigns as Liverpool reclaimed the Premier League title.

However, at 33, signs are emerging that he may be past his peak, with his influence on games noticeably reduced. So far this season, he’s managed just three goals and three assists — respectable numbers for most, but below par by his own high standards.

In contrast, the previous campaign saw him rack up a remarkable 34 goals and 23 assists in all competitions, making this current dip even more surprising.

While there’s still time for him to rediscover his form, even the greatest players eventually slow down — and if Salah isn’t content with reduced minutes, his Liverpool chapter could end sooner than expected.

Despite signing a new two-year contract in April, his situation will likely draw attention in January if his role under Slot continues to diminish.
