The Egyptian was left on the bench by manager Arne Slot during Liverpool’s 5–1 Champions League win away to Eintracht Frankfurt, a decision that has drawn plenty of attention.

Normally one of the first names on the team sheet, Salah has endured a slow start to the season, and Slot now appears willing to omit him from key fixtures. The winger’s social media change — replacing his Liverpool-themed banner with a photo featuring his family — suggests possible frustration with his situation.

Last season, the 33-year-old was outstanding, helping Liverpool to the Premier League title with one of his best-ever campaigns. But his influence has waned this term, with only three goals and three assists so far — modest by his own exceptional standards.
