Tottenham earned a point on the road against Monaco, but one player’s performance left fans far from impressed.

The Spurs travelled to France still unbeaten in the Champions League after a narrow win over Villarreal and a draw at Bodo/Glimt, and that record stayed intact with a goalless draw at the Stade Louis II. Manager Thomas Frank, however, had hoped for a stronger reaction following their 2-1 Premier League loss to Aston Villa.

Cristian Romero missed the trip due to injury, while Frank opted to leave out Djed Spence and Xavi Simons from the starting lineup.

Right-back Pedro Porro came under heavy criticism from supporters after a disappointing outing against Monaco.

“Porro has lost the ball 20 times. Most overrated player ever,” one fan complained, while another added, “Someone tell Porro to stop booting the ball into row Z for no reason.”

A third supporter wrote, “Porro’s been awful this half,” and another concluded, “He’s having one of those nights—woeful. Don’t think he’s completed a single pass.”

Other Spurs players also struggled

Porro wasn’t the only one to underperform. Richarlison, who had already been criticised for his showing against Bodo/Glimt, endured another frustrating evening up front.

Meanwhile, Lucas Bergvall had a tough night in midfield, committing two mistakes that directly led to shots on goal.

With Spurs’ performances on the road proving inconsistent, Frank will be concerned ahead of their next Champions League away fixture against defending champions PSG.
