Tottenham Fans May Be Unhappy With Thomas Frank’s Latest Comments on Bentancur and Palhinha

Tottenham Hotspur supporters may not be pleased with Thomas Frank’s recent remarks concerning the midfield partnership of Rodrigo Bentancur and Joao Palhinha.

Spurs have endured a mixed run of form in recent weeks, with results falling short of expectations. Frank began his tenure in strong fashion, winning four of his first five games, recording four clean sheets, and netting nine goals. However, the team’s recent performances have dipped, managing just one win in their last five fixtures, with their only clean sheet coming in a tense draw against AS Monaco.

Addressing the team’s struggles, Frank spoke about Tottenham’s attacking issues and the impact of injuries to key players. He noted that every manager wants a fully fit squad but acknowledged that injuries are part of football. “Every head coach or manager wants their best players fit. When that happens, we complain the squad is too big. Injuries are injuries, it is what it is,” he said.

The Spurs manager also mentioned the absence of key attackers like Solanke, Kulusevski, and Maddison, while emphasizing that the available players are working hard to restore their attacking rhythm. “It would be lovely to use Solanke, Kulusevski, Maddison, but we have some very talented attacking players available. We are working hard getting the flow with the front four. There have definitely been some good games and good spells but we will keep working,” he added.

Despite criticism from some fans regarding the Bentancur and Palhinha pairing in midfield, Frank maintained confidence in the duo. He explained that the midfield setup is a collective effort and that both players contribute positively to the team’s overall play. “It’s a collective effort in terms of build-up and creating chances. They are more than capable of helping the team. If we are not so free-flowing, it’s about making sure we are solid,” he stated.

Frank further assured that he is analysing every aspect of the team to improve performance and results. “I’m looking into every aspect to do everything I can to maximise the performance. What is the best way to get results and make sure we play as good as possible. I’m happy with Joao and Rodri, that’s what I’m looking at. People can look at whatever they want,” he concluded.
