Liverpool “would find it difficult to refuse” the 58-year-old manager if the chance to bring him back arose.

There have even been reports linking Liverpool with a sensational return for former boss Jürgen Klopp.

However, according to Pete O’Rourke of Football Insider, while neither the 58-year-old nor the club would completely dismiss the idea, a reunion appears very unlikely. Klopp has previously stated that he would only return to the Premier League with Liverpool, but he is currently settled in his leadership role at Red Bull and is unlikely to walk away from that project anytime soon.

Meanwhile, Liverpool are not expected to make any hasty decisions regarding Slot’s position. The club, who only recently won the Premier League title under him, are prepared to remain patient and allow the Dutchman time to turn their form around.
