Arne Slot is reportedly considering offloading a player who was recently named Liverpool’s Player of the Month.
Liverpool forward Federico Chiesa could reportedly be on his way out of Anfield in the near future.
As per a report from Fichajes, manager Arne Slot does not see the Italian international as a key part of his plans and is prepared to sanction his departure either in January or at the end of the season.
However, other recent updates suggest that Liverpool may consider keeping Chiesa at the club for now.
Liverpool should not offload Chiesa in January
The Reds currently lack depth on the wings, and allowing Chiesa to leave midway through the season would be unwise. Retaining him until the summer transfer window would give them more time to find a suitable replacement.
After battling injuries last season, Chiesa has returned to fitness and made a positive impact in his limited appearances this term. The September Player of the Month winner remains a fan favourite and has proven his quality whenever called upon.
It’s unclear why Slot has yet to fully trust the 27-year-old, given his ability to perform in multiple attacking roles. With more opportunities, Chiesa could still establish himself as an important player for Liverpool.
If the club do decide to sell, they must ensure a proper replacement is lined up—especially since Luis Díaz has not been adequately replaced and Mohamed Salah is approaching the latter stages of his career.
Chiesa’s talent and Premier League experience mean he will have no shortage of potential suitors, and he could be a valuable signing for many top sides.
