Federico Chiesa’s future at Liverpool appears uncertain, with reports suggesting the Italian forward could be sold in the coming months.

According to Fichajes, Arne Slot does not see Chiesa as a key part of his tactical setup and is open to letting him leave. The report adds that a departure could happen either in January or at the end of the season.

However, other reports indicate that Liverpool may still consider keeping the attacker at Anfield.

Liverpool must not sell Chiesa in January

Given the team’s lack of depth on the wings, allowing Chiesa to leave midway through the season would be a mistake. The club should aim to retain him until the summer transfer window, when they’ll have more time to find a suitable replacement.

Although injuries hampered Chiesa last season, he has now regained fitness and impressed in his limited appearances this campaign. The 27-year-old remains a highly talented player and a fan favourite, having recently been voted Liverpool’s Player of the Month for September.

It remains unclear why Slot has yet to fully trust the Italian, as Chiesa has shown his quality in multiple attacking roles. With more opportunities, he could become an integral part of the team.

Should Liverpool decide to cash in, they’ll need to recruit wisely to fill the void left behind. The club has yet to properly replace Luis Díaz, and with Mohamed Salah entering the latter stages of his career, reinforcements on the flanks will soon be essential.

Chiesa, meanwhile, is unlikely to be short of suitors. His proven quality and Premier League experience make him an attractive option for many top clubs.
