Thomas Frank highlights four Everton players he considers “very good” ahead of Tottenham’s upcoming clash with the Toffees.

Tottenham boss Thomas Frank has praised Everton’s quality ahead of Sunday’s Premier League clash. Spurs enter the game following a challenging week, having lost to Aston Villa last weekend and then drawing with Monaco in the Champions League, where they were largely second-best.

Everton, meanwhile, have made a strong start to the season and remain unbeaten at their new stadium — a record Tottenham will aim to end this weekend. Frank acknowledged the strength of David Moyes’ side, who combine discipline with attacking flair.

“First and foremost, I think Everton are a very competitive team with many good players — more than just (Jack) Grealish,” said Frank when asked about the England international. “I think Beto has been good up front, Ndiaye has been very good, and Dewsbury-Hall too. A good colleague and friend of mine, David Moyes, is in charge, and his team is always very, very competitive. He’s a manager and a person I respect massively.

“And of course, Grealish — it’s down to the player, but also the coaching staff. Moyes has helped him flourish again. He’s their main creator, no doubt about that. He’s so dangerous and can make something happen out of nothing, so we’ll need to be wary.”

Tottenham face a demanding run of fixtures after this game, including matches against Newcastle in the cup, followed by Chelsea, Manchester United, and Arsenal. Reflecting on the team’s development, Frank said:

“I’m learning every day about the team and the players. I see a very willing group that wants to work hard and do their best for this wonderful club. After a competitive performance against Villa, I saw something very interesting. We lost, but the performance mattered most. I also learned from the game against Monaco. My focus right now is on Everton.”

Assessing the early part of the season, Frank added: “If we look at our performances so far — 13 games — there’s been one bad game against Bournemouth, a poor second half against Wolves, and another against Monaco. The rest have been good, or very good. It’s about being competitive, aggressive, and playing with intensity — that’s how you build a strong team culture.”
