Thomas Frank ‘not a fan’ of Tottenham player who was a key starter under Ange Postecoglou

Tottenham manager Thomas Frank is reportedly unconvinced by striker Dominic Solanke, according to sources cited by Football Insider.

Insiders from Spurs’ training base claim Frank “doesn’t fancy” the £60 million forward, who has struggled to make an impact under the new boss.

Solanke was a regular starter during Ange Postecoglou’s reign last season, featuring 45 times in all competitions and scoring 16 goals. However, his time under Frank has been marred by injuries, with the 28-year-old managing just 49 minutes of football this season before undergoing ankle surgery that will keep him sidelined for an extended spell.

The England international hasn’t appeared since Tottenham’s 2–0 win over Manchester City on August 23. Since joining from Bournemouth in the summer of 2024, he has been hampered by persistent ankle and knee issues.

Despite wanting to strengthen their attack, Tottenham are expected to face major obstacles in securing a new striker during the January transfer window. With injuries and poor form limiting his attacking options, Frank is likely to rely on his current squad for the remainder of the campaign, as mid-season signings are notoriously difficult to complete.
