Arne Slot still has the full support of Liverpool’s board despite the team’s dreadful run of form over the past month.
According to Fabrizio Romano, the Reds’ head coach continues to have complete trust from the club’s hierarchy, even after their fourth straight Premier League defeat last weekend, which saw the reigning champions fall to seventh place, seven points behind leaders Arsenal.
Amid questions about the body language of senior players and rumors of dressing-room tension, Slot is reportedly working hard to steady things at Anfield.
In a recent update on his YouTube channel, Romano made it clear that the Liverpool hierarchy remain convinced Slot is the right man for the job:
> “Inside the club, the ownership and directors fully trust Arne Slot. They’re 100% sure he’s the right manager to guide the team through this period. Although the start of the season has been disappointing, Liverpool believe things will improve with time as the squad settles and new players adjust.”
Romano added that communication between Slot, the management, and the players remains strong, insisting there are “no problems, no bad relationships,” and that everything is “under control,” with the main issues being tactical and mental rather than personal.
While Slot has faced criticism for some of his recent tactical choices and substitutions, suggestions that his job is at risk are baseless.
The 47-year-old deserves credit not only for leading Liverpool to the Premier League title last season but also for managing off-field challenges, including uncertainty over the futures of key players like Mo Salah, Virgil van Dijk, and Trent Alexander-Arnold, as well as the emotional strain following Diogo Jota’s passing.
Although the last few weeks have been disastrous, there’s still plenty of time to turn the season around. As recent examples like Ruben Amorim’s revival at Manchester United show, fortunes in football can shift quickly — and Slot has more than enough ability to steer Liverpool back into title contention.
