Thomas Frank is currently dealing with a lengthy injury list, with ten first-team players unavailable — and that number has now risen to eleven following another setback.

Archie Gray is the latest Tottenham player to suffer an injury, with initial reports suggesting the youngster could be sidelined for up to eight weeks. The news has left fans frustrated, with some questioning the club’s medical department as injuries continue to mount.

However, a more positive update has since emerged. Journalist Tom Barclay reports that Gray’s absence may only last around four weeks instead of the initially feared eight. The 19-year-old is understood to be dealing with a calf issue but is not expected to be out long-term. Thomas Frank has yet to confirm the exact recovery timeline.

Meanwhile, the Tottenham boss has continued to defend Xavi Simons amid a mixed start to life in the Premier League. Frank noted that the 22-year-old is still adapting but praised his positioning in recent matches, stating that only his final touch is missing.

Despite criticism following his performances against Aston Villa and Everton, Xavi retains strong backing from within the club. Former Southampton midfielder Matt Le Tissier also expressed confidence in the new signing, suggesting that as long as results remain positive, Frank will keep faith in him.

Le Tissier told Football Insider: “I think as long as the results are okay, he’ll give Xavi the chance to prove himself. He’s come to a different league, and some players take longer to adapt. He’s not the most physical or the quickest, but he’s got real quality.”

Those within Tottenham reportedly believe Xavi Simons has the potential to become a future superstar once he fully adjusts to Premier League football.
