“Nothing can be ruled out” — Liverpool’s summer signing could be set for a January loan move.
Former Liverpool star Didi Hamann has made a bold claim about Florian Wirtz’s future, suggesting that the club’s record signing could be loaned to Real Madrid as early as January.
Wirtz arrived at Anfield in a blockbuster summer move from Bayer Leverkusen but has found it difficult to settle under new manager Arne Slot.

Real Madrid have continued to monitor the 21-year-old’s situation, and Hamann believes a short-term switch cannot be ruled out.
Speaking to ESportsBets (via GOAL), the ex-Liverpool midfielder said that modern football has made previously unthinkable moves — such as high-profile players being sent out on loan — entirely possible. He referenced Philippe Coutinho’s move to Bayern Munich just a year after joining Barcelona for over £100m as an example.

I wouldn’t rule anything out in today’s football world,” Hamann said.
“It’s been reported that Xabi Alonso has asked Real Madrid to monitor Wirtz at Liverpool — and I can believe that. He was the heartbeat of Leverkusen’s title-winning team with Xhaka, and Alonso knows exactly what he can do.”
Hamann added that while Wirtz is “too good to fail,” the coming weeks could determine his fate:

Why Wirtz has struggled at Liverpool
Wirtz’s slow start has largely been down to the tactical shift from his former role under Xabi Alonso.
At Leverkusen, he thrived as a free-roaming No.10 in a 3-4-2-1 setup, dictating play and receiving constant service from teammates like Granit Xhaka. At Liverpool, however, he’s had to adapt to a system demanding more defensive work, less possession, and greater physicality.
His touches per 90 minutes have dropped significantly, and he has often been outmuscled by Premier League defenders — a typical challenge for technical players transitioning from the Bundesliga.
Despite the early struggles, few doubt Wirtz’s talent or long-term potential. Real Madrid’s continued interest underlines his world-class ability — but for now, his Anfield future remains uncertain.
