Trent Alexander-Arnold Leaves Real Madrid Fans Amazed With Unexpected Video Ahead of Liverpool Showdown

Trent Alexander-Arnold has surprised Real Madrid fans with a new video just days before facing his former club, Liverpool.

The 26-year-old right-back joined Real Madrid in May for £10 million after making 354 appearances for his boyhood club. His Liverpool contract was set to expire in June, sparking months of speculation about his future. After two decades at Anfield, he chose to embark on a new chapter in Spain. His decision wasn’t well received by some supporters, as he was booed when he came off the bench against Arsenal shortly after announcing his departure.

Tensions with Liverpool fans grew further following his Real Madrid unveiling. During his presentation in June, Alexander-Arnold addressed the audience in Spanish — and now, his fluency appears to have improved dramatically. His language tutor, Sara Duque, recently shared a video showcasing his progress.

Speaking entirely in Spanish, Alexander-Arnold said:
“Hi, I’m Trent. I started learning Spanish with Sara five months ago. Before that, I didn’t speak a word. I wanted to learn to communicate better with my teammates, my coach, and the Real Madrid fans — to adapt better to the club and the people. I really enjoy the classes because they focus on football: press conferences, interviews, and the vocabulary I need to talk to my teammates.”

Duque, who has also worked with stars like Endrick, Richarlison, and Julián Álvarez, praised Trent’s dedication on social media, writing:
“Five months. That’s all it took, but it wasn’t easy. Trent didn’t just learn Spanish — he started from zero, accepted imperfection, and kept showing up every day.”

Fans were impressed by his commitment, with one writing on X: “Trent must be very smart and hardworking to adapt so quickly.” Another added: “He was born to play in Spain.”

However, Alexander-Arnold’s start on the pitch has been less smooth. He’s been sidelined for over a month with a hamstring injury suffered in a Champions League clash with Marseille. He returned to the bench for El Clásico last weekend — his first matchday inclusion since the injury — and could make his comeback against Liverpool at Anfield next week.

With Dani Carvajal recovering from knee surgery and Federico Valverde better suited to midfield, Alexander-Arnold may be Xabi Alonso’s preferred choice at right-back.
