Liverpool Injury Update: Isak, Gravenberch, and Jones Ahead of Aston Villa Clash

Liverpool are set to receive a potential injury boost before facing Aston Villa, although several key players remain sidelined.

Head coach Arne Slot provided an update ahead of tomorrow’s Premier League match at Anfield. The Reds enter the fixture after four straight league defeats and six losses in their last seven games across all competitions. Despite guiding Liverpool to the league title last season, Slot now finds his team seven points behind leaders Arsenal and under growing pressure.

Alexander Isak, signed for a British record fee of £125 million, has missed the last two games with a groin injury. Curtis Jones was forced off against Brentford and also missed the clash with Crystal Palace.

Slot confirmed in his press conference that Ryan Gravenberch is close to returning, but Isak and Jones are unlikely to feature.

“Ryan trained yesterday, the other two didn’t. As I’ve said before, the final stage of recovery can go either way. We’ll see how Ryan responds after training again today, but the other two are 99.9% certain to miss out,” Slot explained.

Elsewhere, goalkeeper Alisson Becker remains out with a hamstring issue, while Jeremie Frimpong is also expected to be sidelined for another month with a similar injury.

Youngsters Jayden Danns and Stefan Bajcetic are unavailable due to hamstring problems, and Giovanni Leone will miss the rest of the season after suffering an ACL injury.
