According to lip-reading specialist Jeremy Freeman, speaking to the Daily Mail, Spence was seen saying: “I ain’t doing it… go away,” as he brushed off his manager.
Freeman also believes Spence added “leave me… off,” although that part of the exchange was harder to interpret.
The heated moment followed a frustrating game in which Spurs struggled to break down Chelsea’s organised defence.
Spence, who has recently made waves with the England squad and earned praise for his high-intensity performances, appeared to take the defeat particularly hard.
Journalist Oliver Holt called the incident “a worrying sign,” hinting that it may reflect deeper issues inside the camp after a patchy run of form.

Despite the incident, sources inside the club insist there is no rift between the defender and his manager, stressing that both still have a respectful working relationship and are keen to move on.
