Tottenham Hotspur are set to reward Micky van de Ven with a new contract and salary increase after his standout performances and rising importance to the squad, per The Telegraph.

The Dutch centre-back, who netted a brilliant solo goal against Copenhagen in the Champions League on Tuesday, has rapidly become a vital partner to Cristian Romero, forming what Spurs believe is one of the Premier League’s strongest defensive duos.

Romero recently became the club’s top earner after signing a new deal in the summer, and Tottenham now want Van de Ven’s contract to better reflect his value.

Despite having three and a half years left on his current deal, Spurs intend to extend it past 2029 and upgrade his wages. There is no urgency to finalise talks, but the club has already agreed that his performances deserve official acknowledgement.
