Thomas Frank has shared his thoughts on his early months as Tottenham Hotspur manager, reflecting on the transition from Brentford and the challenges of leading a bigger club.
The Danish coach, who built a strong reputation at Brentford, was long tipped for a top Premier League job before joining Spurs on a three-year deal last summer. His time in north London has brought both progress and growing pains — with improvements in the league table but occasional inconsistency drawing mixed reactions from supporters.

Speaking to the club’s official channel, Frank admitted that his Tottenham project remains “a work in progress,” but expressed optimism about the future.
“It has been super exciting — a big learning curve,” he said. “You learn every single day. Overall, I think it has gone well. We’ve done quite well to collect points in both the Premier League and Champions League. We’re not yet where I want us to be, but we’ll get there.”
Comparing Tottenham to Brentford
Frank also discussed the similarities and differences between his new role and his time at Brentford, noting that while the environment is different, his coaching principles remain consistent.
“When I walked in here, people asked if it was different to Brentford — in many ways, no. It’s the same in several respects, just with different people and tactics,” he explained. “The learning curve comes from understanding reactions and personalities.”
He emphasised the importance of managing egos and personalities within a squad: “We all have egos. Some people handle them well, others need a bit more guidance.”
Unity with the fans
Frank also highlighted the impact of Tottenham’s supporters, praising the atmosphere at recent matches and urging continued togetherness.
“It was really rocking,” he said. “That positive energy from the fans drives the players, and we need to build on it. It has to be a collaboration — the more we push each other, the stronger we’ll be. We’ll keep doing everything we can to perform.”
