Thomas Frank provides update as injured star “on track,” though Premier League return remains uncertain

Tottenham Hotspur striker Dominic Solanke is expected to return to action sometime after the November international break, according to manager Thomas Frank.

Spurs host Manchester United in London on Saturday in a game that could prove crucial in the race for a Champions League spot. However, they’ll have to cope with several injury setbacks in attack, including absences for James Maddison and Dejan Kulusevski.

Many fans had hoped Solanke would make his comeback against United after being sidelined since August 23 with an ankle injury, but Frank confirmed the striker still needs more time.

Tottenham’s first game after the break is the North London Derby against Arsenal on November 23, though Solanke is unlikely to start even if fit. He’s also expected to miss the starting lineup for the Champions League clash with PSG three days later. A more realistic return could be against Fulham on November 29, though he’ll likely be eased in gradually before playing twice in one week.

United are at their strongest when defending deep — an approach they’ll likely take on Saturday as the away side. Spurs’ home form has been inconsistent, with just one win in their last four at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
