Zinedine Zidane Makes Shocking Revelation About His Return to Management in Recent Interview

Zinedine Zidane has made a stunning revelation about his long-awaited return to football management.

The French icon, who has been out of the dugout since leaving Real Madrid for the second time in May 2021, has often been linked with high-profile clubs such as Manchester United, Chelsea, Marseille, and Fenerbahce. However, he has so far resisted the urge to take up another role. Zidane previously admitted in 2022 that he had no immediate plans to manage in England due to not being fluent in English.

For years, Zidane has been strongly linked with the France national team job. His former teammate Didier Deschamps has held the post since 2014 but plans to step down after the 2026 World Cup. Reports from Marca suggested that Zidane would only consider managing either France or returning to Real Madrid for a third spell, sparking rumours that he might even retire from management altogether.

Now, ahead of his participation in a charity match, Zidane has finally confirmed that he will return to coaching. Speaking to reporters, he said: “It will happen soon. Very soon.”

Although he did not reveal which team he will manage, Zidane expressed his ambition at the Trento Sports Festival last month to lead the French national team “one day.” He also addressed rumours linking him to Juventus — where he played from 1996 to 2001 — before the club replaced Igor Tudor with Luciano Spalletti.

“I’d like to be the head coach of the France team one day,” Zidane said. “I will surely return to coaching.”
