Vitinha’s stance on Liverpool revealed amid reports of a ‘staggering’ transfer bid

Liverpool have reportedly set their sights on Paris Saint-Germain midfielder Vitinha as a possible target for the January transfer window, with the club said to be exploring midfield reinforcements to strengthen Arne Slot’s squad.

It has been a standout year for the 25-year-old Portuguese international, who finished third in the latest Ballon d’Or rankings after playing a crucial role in PSG’s historic treble-winning campaign.

Vitinha’s performances have caught the eye of Liverpool’s scouts, who regard him as one of the most technically gifted midfielders in Europe. According to Caught Offside, the Reds are “keeping a close watch” on the former Wolves loanee, admiring his ability to control the tempo and drive play forward, qualities that suit Slot’s tactical setup.

However, completing a deal would be far from straightforward. PSG are reluctant to sell, though reports suggest that a “staggering” bid of around €130 million (£114m) could persuade them to enter talks. Arsenal and Juventus are also monitoring his situation, while Liverpool are only expected to move if one of their current midfielders departs in January.

Vitinha has previously spoken warmly about Liverpool, praising the Anfield atmosphere after PSG’s penalty shootout win over the Reds in March:
