Vitinha has made his stance on Liverpool clear amid reports of a ‘staggering’ transfer offer.
Liverpool have reportedly set their sights on Paris Saint-Germain midfielder Vitinha as a possible signing ahead of the January transfer window, with the club said to be exploring reinforcements to bolster their midfield options.
The Portuguese star has enjoyed a remarkable year, finishing third in the latest Ballon d’Or rankings after playing a key role in PSG’s treble-winning campaign. His performances have caught the attention of Liverpool’s scouts, who view the former Wolves loanee as one of Europe’s most technically proficient midfielders.
According to Caught Offside, the Reds are “keeping a close watch” on Vitinha as the window approaches. The 25-year-old’s composure on the ball and ability to dictate the tempo make him a perfect fit for Arne Slot’s tactical system.
Given Liverpool’s inconsistent start to the 2025–26 season, Vitinha’s addition would bring much-needed control and creativity in midfield. However, prising him away from PSG won’t be easy. The Ligue 1 champions are reluctant to sell, though a staggering bid in the region of €130 million (£114m) could reportedly persuade them to enter talks.
Arsenal and Juventus are also thought to be tracking the Portuguese international, but Liverpool are only expected to move if one of their current midfielders departs in January.
Vitinha has already spoken glowingly about Liverpool in the past. Following PSG’s penalty shoot-out victory over the Reds in March, he praised both the team and the Anfield atmosphere.
“It’s not easy to play here, with the crowd pushing them on,” he said post-match. “They’re a great team, and we’re just happy and relieved with the win.”
Vitinha was outstanding in that game, completing 103 of his 111 passes and winning six ground duels. His performance even drew admiration from Thierry Henry, who lauded the midfielder’s influence on TNT Sports:
