Tottenham are competing to sign a £42m-rated Brazilian star who has netted 20 goals in 52 appearances.

Thomas Frank will be hoping his Tottenham Hotspur side can find some attacking rhythm in the coming weeks. At times, Spurs have had to rely on goals from Micky van de Ven, who is currently the club’s top scorer with six goals. The team’s forwards, however, have underperformed, with Richarlison, Mathys Tel, and Randal Kolo Muani combining for just six goals.

Tottenham could look to the January transfer market to bolster their attacking options, with several strikers linked to the club, including the possibility of a return for former Spurs star Harry Kane. Meanwhile, Football Insider reports that a promising young Brazilian forward has caught Tottenham’s attention.

Vitor Roque, 20, has been attracting interest across the Premier League after scoring 20 goals in 52 appearances for Palmeiras. Journalist Pete O’Rourke noted on the Inside Track podcast that although Roque struggled to settle at Barcelona, his return to Brazil has seen him regain form, sparking renewed interest from top clubs. O’Rourke added that Chelsea and Tottenham are among those reportedly monitoring the Brazilian star. Palmeiras is said to value Roque at a minimum of £42 million.

January could prove pivotal for Tottenham’s forward line. Decisions will need to be made regarding Richarlison and Kolo Muani, with the latter on loan and Richarlison having struggled to seize opportunities in the absence of Dominic Solanke. Spurs are also actively pursuing Dusan Vlahovic, who, according to David Trezeguet, could surpass Harry Kane in quality, with a move possible either on a pre-contract or for a modest fee.
