A moment involving Jurgen Klopp away from Anfield is drawing plenty of attention — and not just because of the reveal video.

Klopp’s return to the sideline — and what it means for Liverpool

On Instagram, Klopp confirmed he’ll be stepping back into a touchline-style setting as part of his new punditry role with MagentaTV for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

The 58-year-old’s announcement began with a line that instantly caught the eye of Liverpool supporters: “Grass underneath my feet. The heated atmosphere in the stadium and I want to be really close again.”

It sounded very much like he was teasing a coaching comeback — but that wasn’t the case.

He continued: “Many of you have always known better. But I truly couldn’t envision it for myself. Going back to the sideline? I don’t miss anything. That is what I always thought. But now it is tingling again.”

Then came the reveal: “Oh? No, not as a manager, I am becoming a pundit for MagentaTV at the FIFA World Cup 2026.”

His back-and-forth with host Johannes B. Kerner added to the mystery, with Kerner asking about his plans for next summer. Klopp responded: “I’m in! How cool is that! See you on June 11 in Mexico!”

So, there’s no managerial return just yet — although speculation will persist before the World Cup arrives.

He could still be involved at Anfield in March 2026 for the Liverpool vs. Borussia Dortmund legends match, especially given his ambassador role with the LFC Foundation. That new “tingle” he mentioned might be stoked by the chance to step back into the dugout, even for a charity event against one of his former clubs.

Why Klopp’s words feel like another hint about coaching again

This isn’t the first sign that his managerial chapter may not be completely closed.

Roberto Firmino recently said: “I think he’s going to go back to coaching a club… whether it’s Liverpool, only he can say.”

Hearing those comments from a former favourite aligns with the tone of Klopp’s latest video — a subtle but noticeable shift.

With Arne Slot navigating a testing spell, the timing of Klopp’s reappearance in the football spotlight won’t go unnoticed by fans.

His latest remarks add to the sense that a permanent break from management may not be guaranteed.

And for Liverpool supporters, anything that brings Klopp even slightly closer to football will always spark excitement.
