Liverpool poised to break transfer record for versatile ‘magician’ capable of excelling in all aspects
Liverpool have reportedly set their sights on signing French international attacker Michael Olise.
The 23-year-old forward has impressed since joining Bayern Munich and is widely regarded as one of the most promising young talents in European football today.
His Bayern teammate, Dayot Upamecano, described him as “a magician” with exceptional technical skills, saying, “He can do everything—score, create chances, and even contribute defensively.”
Liverpool are considering Olise as a potential successor to club legend Mohamed Salah, who is expected to depart in the near future. With Salah entering the latter stages of his career, the Reds are keen to invest in a younger, dynamic player who can eventually fill his shoes.
Olise possesses the qualities needed to develop into a world-class performer. However, Bayern Munich are likely to demand a substantial fee for his transfer.
In fact, Liverpool are reportedly preparing a record-breaking bid of around €200 million to secure Olise’s signature—an offer that could prove difficult for Bayern to refuse.
The French winger’s familiarity with the Premier League, having previously played for Crystal Palace, would help him adapt quickly to Liverpool’s style of play. His pace, goal threat, and creativity on the flanks would be valuable assets for the Reds as they look to strengthen their attacking options.
Salah’s recent dip in form makes the prospect of replacing him with Olise particularly appealing.
Last season, Olise recorded an impressive 20 goals and 23 assists across all competitions, underscoring his potential to be a marquee signing for Liverpool if the deal goes through.
