An insider suggests that the 21-year-old Liverpool target “might be heading to Spurs” instead.
Wolfsburg defender Konstantinos Koulierakis is reportedly attracting interest from both Liverpool and Tottenham Hotspur as he may leave the German club in the near future.
Former Everton CEO Keith Wyness has suggested that the 21-year-old defender could be leaning towards a move to Tottenham instead of Liverpool.
Highly regarded across Europe, Koulierakis has impressed in Germany with his blend of physicality and technical skill, making him a promising candidate for English football. Both Liverpool and Tottenham could benefit from adding him to their squads.
Liverpool, in particular, are in need of a strong central defender, especially with Ibrahima Konate expected to depart at the end of the season. Konate’s contract runs until the summer of 2026, and he has yet to agree on an extension.
Tottenham, meanwhile, are also seeking to bolster their defensive options. It remains to be seen which club will successfully secure Koulierakis’ signature.
Regarding the potential transfer, Keith Wyness told Football Insider:
“Liverpool have several targets at the moment, and he is definitely one of them. However, I’m not sure he’s heading to Liverpool. Spurs are also in the running. They already have Micky van de Ven, who has been outstanding lately—an incredible athlete. Koulierakis, currently at Wolfsburg, is one of the top young defenders attracting a lot of interest. But from what I’m hearing, he might be going to Spurs rather than Liverpool.”
Koulierakis is viewed as a talented player with great potential. Both clubs offer him an attractive platform to develop and compete at the highest level, fighting for trophies and establishing himself as a key player in the future.
