“Liverpool have begun early discussions with the player as they attempt to derail Real Madrid’s transfer plans.”

Dominik Szoboszlai has recently been linked with a potential switch to Real Madrid, following an impressive run of form for Liverpool.
The 25-year-old has been outstanding this season, attracting interest from the Spanish giants. Even so, Liverpool have no plans to part with him and are already looking to secure his long-term future. Early discussions over a new contract have begun, and both sides will now attempt to reach an agreement.
Liverpool cannot afford to lose Szoboszlai
If the Reds intend to challenge for major honours, keeping their top performers is essential. Szoboszlai is one of the first names on Arne Slot’s teamsheet, and losing him would be a huge setback. The club are eager to finalise a long-term extension as soon as possible, though it remains to be seen whether the midfielder is ready to commit fully just yet.
Real Madrid interest emerges
Speaking to Football Insider, Pete O’Rourke said:
“Szoboszlai has probably been Liverpool’s most consistent player this season. He’s stepped up and become a vital figure under Arne Slot.
“It’s no shock other clubs are taking notice. Real Madrid have been mentioned in Spain, but I don’t see Liverpool entertaining any offers for him.
“Liverpool want to build their team around him. He’s tied down until 2028, and it’s believed the club have opened early talks to reward his strong performances. He’s an automatic starter right now.”
Szoboszlai is clearly thriving at Anfield and has already lifted major trophies with the club. He has little incentive to move elsewhere, and there’s no indication he’ll push for a transfer any time soon.
