Tottenham star Pedro Porro, who has started every qualifier, enjoyed a productive outing as Spain dominated Georgia while keeping another clean sheet. Porro, earning his 15th cap—nine of them this year—was substituted at halftime for Marcos Llorente, with the media praising his performance. Porro, who joined Tottenham for £39.7m in January 2023, is known for his attacking instincts and relentless energy at both ends of the pitch. Spain now need just one more game to confirm their World Cup qualification. Automatic qualification would have been secured if Turkey had dropped points against Bulgaria, but Hakan Calhanoglu’s penalty and an own goal by Atanas Chernev delayed the decision. England manager Thomas Tuchel has publicly reprimanded Djed Spence for his conduct after ignoring Thomas Frank last month. Spence, who played a key role in Tottenham’s Europa League triumph last season, has three caps for England but remained on the bench during their victory over Serbia, failing to add to his tally. Tuchel admitted he was unimpressed by Spence’s behavior during Tottenham’s defeat to Chelsea.
