According to his report (via skysport.ch), Liverpool have submitted a ‘final offer’ which they view as highly competitive and one that would place Konaté among the club’s top earners. It’s also claimed the Frenchman has long dreamed of playing for Real Madrid, with a decision on his future expected ‘in the coming weeks’.

Different stories are now emerging regarding whether an official offer has actually been made, with Konaté insisting publicly that no proposal has reached him. At least one account is clearly inconsistent.

What remains certain is that his contract expires next June, and from January he’s eligible to negotiate a pre-contract with clubs abroad.
