A Tottenham transfer target Thomas Frank is keen on has just broken a record previously held by Pelé.
Since leaving Tottenham Hotspur in 2013 to chase silverware, Harry Kane – widely regarded as one of the world’s elite strikers – has maintained his extraordinary scoring rate, netting an incredible 108 goals in 113 appearances for Bayern Munich.

The 32-year-old has not only cemented himself as Bayern’s talisman but also remained a prolific figure for England. He recently struck twice in the Three Lions’ final World Cup qualifier against Albania. Thomas Tuchel’s side sealed their place at the 2026 World Cup in dominant fashion, winning every match in Group K without conceding, as fans dare to dream again after back-to-back Euros final heartbreaks.
With one of the globe’s top finishers leading the line, England look a real threat, and Kane has now surpassed a milestone once held by three-time World Cup winner Pelé.
Harry Kane moves ahead of Pelé for international goals
Kane’s brace against Albania pushed him beyond Pelé’s international tally and extended his lead to 25 goals over Wayne Rooney at the top of England’s all-time scoring chart. It’s no surprise, then, that Thomas Frank has openly expressed his desire to bring the former Spurs striker back, stating: “He is an unbelievable player who did fantastic for Spurs and is doing fantastic for Bayern. Top player. I think there’s a lot of Tottenham fans, including myself, who would like to see Kane back.”
Frank’s remarks followed revelations of a clause in Kane’s Bayern contract that makes him available for £54m in January, with Tottenham also holding first refusal should they choose to negotiate with the German champions.
Kane is in the form of his career at Bayern and is targeting Champions League glory this season, which could make any return to north London a challenge. But should Tottenham manage to pull it off, he would be a monumental signing and could even go on to break the Premier League’s all-time goalscoring record.
