Graham Potter shares latest on Dejan Kulusevski’s injury as a potential Tottenham return date emerges.

Graham Potter has delivered a fresh update on Dejan Kulusevski’s injury, with a clearer picture now forming around the Tottenham star’s expected return. The Sweden manager believes the midfielder is on course for a long-awaited comeback in December.

Kulusevski has been out since May after damaging his right patella against Crystal Palace, a setback that forced him to miss the Europa League final against Manchester United. He underwent surgery shortly after and was initially expected to feature in the early months of the season, but he is yet to appear under Thomas Frank.

Potter, speaking after Sweden’s 1-1 draw with Slovenia, revealed encouraging news about the 25-year-old’s recovery. “Dejan is progressing. He’s pleased with where he is in his rehabilitation,” he said. “It’s in Tottenham’s hands, and his. He felt good when we last spoke, and I hope to see him around Christmas or the New Year.”

He added that while nothing is certain, Kulusevski is “in a good place” and ready to take the next step in his rehab, stressing that there is no pressure being placed on his return.

Spurs, meanwhile, are cautious about rushing him back to avoid any setbacks. Back in September, Frank noted that while he wouldn’t put an exact month on his return, the club was hopeful of seeing him again before the end of the year. “It’s not tomorrow, but hopefully not too far away,” he said.

Sweden struggled in Kulusevski’s absence, finishing bottom of their World Cup qualifying group. However, their Nations League success has given them a route to the tournament via the play-offs, where they must first overcome Ukraine before facing either Poland or Albania in the final.
