Arne Slot admitted things “didn’t really work out” as he delivered blunt post-match remarks following Liverpool’s defeat.

The Premier League returned after the international break, but for Liverpool, nothing changed.

Speaking openly about Liverpool’s dreadful form, Arne Slot admitted that his tactical decisions have failed to produce results.

As reported by Fabrizio Romano, the Dutchman said:

“If things go well or things go bad, it’s always my responsibility. I tried to adjust a few things that didn’t really work out.

“We have quality players. It’s my job to get the best out of them. I am not at the moment. It’s my responsibility.”

Liverpool looked like strong title favourites after their summer recruitment, but this sixth defeat now casts major doubt over their ability to challenge Arsenal and Manchester City.

New signings struggling under Slot
The lack of impact from Liverpool’s new arrivals will be one of the biggest concerns for the club.

Alexander Isak, who started against Forest, barely influenced the game and looked completely isolated up front.

Milos Kerkez still seems a long way from being the finished product.

Meanwhile, Ibrahima Konate’s recent displays have raised alarm bells. The French defender has looked uncertain, short of ideas, and possibly distracted by his ongoing contract situation.
