Spurs Fans Demand Player’s Immediate Exit After Arsenal Defeat as Replacement Emerges

Arsenal controlled the north London derby from start to finish, recording 17 attempts in the first half while Spurs failed to register a single shot.

Thomas Frank set his team up with five at the back and a deep defensive block to try and contain Arsenal’s attack, but the hosts eventually found the opener on 36 minutes through Leandro Trossard. Eberechi Eze struck his first of the game five minutes later, then netted again just seconds into the second half.

Tottenham’s only highlight came from Richarlison, who intercepted a loose pass and lifted the ball over David Raya from roughly 40 yards. But Arsenal hit back once more, with Eze completing his hat-trick in the 76th minute. The defeat leaves Spurs sitting ninth in the Premier League.

The performance — and Frank’s approach — left Tottenham fans furious, with much of the frustration aimed at Rodrigo Bentancur. Once a key figure under Ange Postecoglou, the midfielder has struggled this season, and supporters now want him moved on in January. One fan wrote: “That should be the last time Bentancur wears the shirt for a while.”

Another commented: “He hides, loses his positioning completely and offers no creativity.” A third added: “Bentancur dragged. Truly awful performance.” A fourth fan said: “Bentancur at fault for all three goals, but he’ll probably stay nailed onto the team sheet anyway.”

Meanwhile, reports suggest Spurs are eyeing Manchester United’s Kobbie Mainoo, who has found playing time hard to come by under Ruben Amorim. The midfielder asked for a loan move in the summer, but Amorim rejected the request.

Last month, Amorim explained that United’s lack of European fixtures has limited Mainoo’s opportunities, noting he is also competing directly with captain Bruno Fernandes. “He needs more games for me to make a rotation,” Amorim said. “With only one match a week, it’s difficult. To put him in, I’d have to take out someone already playing. With more fixtures, you can rotate and manage the squad differently.”
