Gabriel and William Saliba Troll Richarlison on Social Media After Arsenal’s 4–1 Win Over Tottenham

For now, Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal hold the bragging rights after dismantling Tottenham Hotspur 4–1 in the first North London Derby of the 2025/26 season. It was a memorable night, and both Gabriel Magalhaes and William Saliba took to Instagram to celebrate the victory – and poke fun at Spurs striker Richarlison.

Leandro Trossard opened the scoring after being picked out by a superb Mikel Merino pass, but the match ultimately belonged to Eberechi Eze. The playmaker became the first Arsenal player since Alan Sunderland in 1978 to net a hat-trick against Spurs. His first goal arrived four minutes before half-time, his second just after the restart, and his third in the 76th minute – all despite controversy over Arsenal players standing between him and goalkeeper Guglielmo Vicario.

While Eze stole the headlines, Arsenal’s long-built defensive foundation of Gabriel and Saliba was again central to their dominance. Though Gabriel missed the match due to an injury sustained on Brazil duty, he was seen celebrating from the stands – and his post-match Instagram added to the trolling of Richarlison. The Spurs forward had mocked him back in July by tagging him in a Man of the Match post after a preseason win. Gabriel responded this time by posing with Eze’s shirt, an Arsenal scarf, a signed match ball, and multiple awards – and tagged Richarlison for good measure. With Arsenal top of the Premier League and Spurs sitting ninth, the jab was hard to miss.

Saliba also joined the fun, posting a photo of himself wrestling with Richarlison and captioning it “North London is still Red.” Another photo showed the Frenchman winning a physical duel against the Brazilian, and Gabriel later reposted it.

Arsenal now turn their attention to midweek Champions League action as they prepare to host Vincent Kompany’s Bayern Munich, where Harry Kane will be eager to get one over his former rivals. Tottenham, meanwhile, head to Paris to face reigning champions PSG.
