Sky Sports journalist claims Liverpool are ‘actively pushing’ to secure a high-cost signing in the January window

Liverpool are stepping up their pursuit of Bournemouth star Antoine Semenyo ahead of the January transfer window, with formal talks already underway between the clubs, according to Sky Sports journalist Florian Plettenberg.

The 25-year-old Ghanaian forward has been one of Bournemouth’s standout performers this season, attracting interest from several top Premier League sides thanks to his explosive displays. Liverpool are reportedly pushing hard for a deal and are fully aware of the €70m (£60m) release clause that becomes active in January.

Semenyo has flourished under Andoni Iraola, showcasing his pace, directness, and goal threat. His ability to play on either wing or as a support striker has made him one of the most admired attacking options in the league.

Liverpool’s interest is serious

The wide attacker has registered six goals and three assists in 12 appearances so far, further elevating his profile. Sources close to the situation claim Arne Slot has personally approved the move, believing Semenyo would fit seamlessly into his system.
