Projected Tottenham Lineup as Thomas Frank Readies His Side for the Champions League Clash with PSG
Tottenham will no doubt have revenge on their minds as they head to Paris for their Champions League matchday five showdown with PSG.
The French giants denied Spurs another European trophy when they met in the UEFA Super Cup back in August. Tottenham had controlled most of the match, only for PSG to roar back late on, overturning a two-goal deficit and eventually winning on penalties.
Wednesday’s fixture hands Spurs the chance to strike back, and a win would be a major boost for Thomas Frank’s side after their recent defeat to Arsenal.
Below is the projected Tottenham lineup for the clash with PSG:
Predicted Tottenham XI vs PSG
Goalkeeper – Guglielmo Vicario: Started against Arsenal and conceded four, but will look for a stronger display in Paris.
Right-back – Pedro Porro: Left out of the last match in favour of Djed Spence, but expected to come back into the lineup.
Centre-back – Cristian Romero: Part of the defensive struggles against Arsenal, yet set to start before serving his league suspension at the weekend.
Centre-back – Micky van de Ven: With Frank likely abandoning a back three, van de Ven should partner Romero in central defence.
Left-back – Destiny Udogie: Managed to keep Saka quiet for most of the derby and provides attacking threat on the left, making him likely to feature.
Pivot midfielder – Joao Palhinha: One of the better performers against Arsenal, showing fight in the second half, and should continue in the holding role.
Pivot midfielder – Pape Matar Sarr: Bentancur struggled in the derby, so Sarr may come in to bring energy to midfield.
Attacking midfielder – Xavi Simons: Missed out due to Frank’s 3-4-3 setup last time, but expected to return in the No. 10 role against his former club.
Right winger – Mohammed Kudus: Continues to be a standout performer on the right flank.
Striker – Randal Kolo Muani: Returned to action recently and should start again, still using protective equipment.
Left winger – Wilson Odobert: Quiet against Arsenal with limited touches, but in line to start on the left once more.
