Three Tottenham players are heading into the PSG clash on a disciplinary knife-edge.
A trip to face PSG is arguably the last fixture Thomas Frank would have wanted right now. After Tottenham’s dismal showing at the Emirates, the spotlight is firmly on the manager to loosen the reins and prove he can set up a side to attack.
Even so, Spurs did find success using a back five against PSG in the Super Cup, and Frank knows the Parisians can dismantle his team if they leave too much space at the back.
Adding to his concerns, three Tottenham players are now one booking away from suspension in the Champions League, according to the club’s official website. Brennan Johnson is already ruled out after his red card against Copenhagen, while Micky van de Ven, Richarlison, and Randal Kolo Muani all sit on two yellow cards. Any of them picking up another caution at the Parc des Princes will miss the December 9 meeting with Slavia Prague at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
PSG, meanwhile, may receive an injury boost ahead of the clash. Earlier reports suggested Achraf Hakimi, Nuno Mendes, Desire Doue, and Ousmane Dembele could miss the match. However, L’Equipe now claim Dembele has returned to training and is feeling optimistic about featuring against Tottenham.
