Liverpool have reached a verdict on Arne Slot’s future following their humiliating Champions League loss

Liverpool’s top brass are scheduled to convene an emergency meeting on Thursday as they confront the club’s alarming slide in form and the increasingly fragile position of manager Arne Slot, according to a reliable X source.

The Reds were stunned 4-1 by PSV at Anfield in the Champions League on Wednesday night, a result that has deepened the crisis surrounding the team. Slot’s Liverpool have now suffered nine losses in their last 12 matches across all competitions, intensifying pressure on the Dutchman.

The upcoming meeting—described as “urgent and potentially decisive”—will bring together Michael Edwards, FSG’s CEO of Football, and sporting director Richard Hughes, both of whom are flying in to the AXA Training Centre for face-to-face discussions.

Senior FSG officials based in Boston are also expected to join via video call as concerns mount over the club’s rapid decline.

Liverpool’s form has collapsed dramatically, with the team dropping points in six of their last seven Premier League fixtures and falling to mid-table just a year after winning the title. Although FSG had originally planned to give Slot until January 2026 to stabilise the situation, the severity of the current slump—along with reported dressing-room unease and growing fan discontent—could force them to rethink.

Thursday’s discussions will focus on three key areas: immediate tactical adjustments, January transfer plans, and Slot’s long-term viability as manager.

While the club continues to publicly express faith in Slot, the private tone within FSG is far more serious, with a recognition that strong action may become unavoidable if results don’t improve soon.
