Insiders outline Tottenham’s plan for a new striker and their approach to Richarlison’s future

Tottenham are ready to part ways with Richarlison in January, with club sources indicating they no longer see him as the answer to their attacking issues. Football Insider reports that Spurs are planning a major reshuffle up front this winter after continued problems in front of goal. Both Richarlison and Dominic Solanke could be allowed to leave as Thomas Frank seeks solutions for his underperforming attack.

Everton are said to be open to re-signing Richarlison if Spurs choose to sell, as the Brazilian is not viewed as a natural No. 9 despite registering six goals and two assists in 20 appearances. The Inside Track podcast claims Tottenham believe he is more effective out wide rather than leading the line. Randal Kolo Muani’s recent brace against PSG has also raised hopes he might become Spurs’ main striker if they cannot secure a new forward in January.

Tottenham continue to look for an out-and-out centre-forward, with Solanke’s season disrupted by injury and Richarlison only a stopgap solution. A move for Ivan Toney, once considered a strong possibility, now seems unlikely. According to Football Insider, the 28-year-old is content at Al-Ahli in Saudi Arabia and earning a salary Spurs cannot realistically match, making a reunion with Frank improbable.
