Roman Reigns Unlikely to Team Up With WWE Star Again Following Survivor Series
Roman Reigns delivered a blunt message to a major WWE Superstar at last night’s Survivor Series, warning that he has no intention of ever teaming with him again after the show’s explosive main event.
The 39th edition of WWE’s November PLE took place at Petco Park, home of the San Diego Padres, and opened with the women’s WarGames bout. AJ Lee led Charlotte Flair, Rhea Ripley, Alexa Bliss, and Iyo Sky to victory over Becky Lynch, Lash Legend, Nia Jax, and The Kabuki Warriors.
Although San Diego is ‘Dirty’ Dominik Mysterio’s hometown, it was John Cena who received a huge ovation as he defended the Intercontinental Championship he recently captured from Mysterio—ending his long quest to win the title during his legendary WWE run.
The crowd strongly backed Cena, chanting “Thank You, Cena” early on, but his title reign proved short-lived. Mysterio reclaimed the championship just 19 days after losing it, thanks to interference from Liv Morgan.
This event marked Cena’s final appearance at a WWE premium live event. He exited to a standing ovation, with under two weeks left before his retirement match on the December 13 edition of Saturday Night’s Main Event.
In the night’s third match, Stephanie Vaquer retained the Women’s World Championship by defeating Nikki Bella, avenging Nikki’s betrayal from the November 10 episode of Raw.
Survivor Series Main Event
The blockbuster main event featured The Vision—Logan Paul, Drew McIntyre, and Brock Lesnar—taking on CM Punk, Cody Rhodes, Roman Reigns, and The Usos.
Punk started against Bron Breakker, but McIntyre soon entered to give his team the edge, opening up Punk in the process. Rhodes joined next to level the numbers. Logan Paul, Jimmy Uso, Bronson Reed, and Jey Uso followed in sequence. Lesnar then entered with longtime associate Paul Heyman, before Reigns closed out the field.
Just moments after Punk hit Logan Paul with a GTS, a masked attacker stormed the cage, superkicked Punk, delivered a Curb Stomp, and fled. Breakker took advantage, spearing Punk for the winning pinfall.
Reigns’ Warning to Cody Rhodes
Afterward, Reigns helped Punk to his feet and shared a fist bump with him. However, he had no such gesture for longtime rival Cody Rhodes. In a tense staredown reminiscent of their WrestleMania battles, Reigns told Rhodes that this would be the last time they ever join forces.
