“It’s been very difficult,” he told The Athletic. “At first, I didn’t think I’d be out for long but we didn’t really understand the full extent of the injury. I tried to get back quickly but it didn’t happen, so I needed surgery.”

Radu Dragusin

Dragusin is edging closer to a return from his ACL injury, offering a boost to Spurs’ defensive options. He featured for 45 minutes in a behind-closed-doors friendly against Leyton Orient during last month’s international break.

“It felt good,” he said afterward. “First minutes in 10 months, finally minutes in the legs, and now I just need to build from here.”

Although he was absent from the squads against Arsenal, PSG and Fulham, he may rejoin the matchday group this week, possibly in the home game against Brentford.

Dejan Kulusevski
