Arne Slot hints a key Liverpool star could make his injury comeback before the week is out.

Arne Slot is optimistic that one of Liverpool’s injured players could return within the next week.

Despite a demanding run of four games in 10 days, Liverpool currently have a near full-strength squad. The major absentees remain Giovanni Leoni (ACL), Conor Bradley and Jeremie Frimpong.

Lewis Steele reported on Monday that Frimpong has resumed light training and hopes to be back in two weeks. Bradley, however, might recover sooner.

Speaking in his press conference ahead of Wednesday’s clash with Sunderland, Slot provided an update on both right-backs. He said (via Liverpool Echo):

**“Conor trained with the team for the first time yesterday. He’s not fully ready yet, so we must be careful. Don’t expect too much too soon.

Jeremie should follow next week, but because we’re playing so many games, he’ll still miss a few. Hopefully Conor can make it for Leeds on Saturday.”**

With Bradley and Frimpong both ruled out for the Sunderland game, Joe Gomez is the likely starter at right-back after impressing in the 2–0 win over West Ham.

If Bradley isn’t ready for the Leeds fixture, Liverpool may need Gomez to handle a heavy run of minutes despite his limited game time this season outside the Carabao Cup.

Even so, Bradley looks close to a return during a very busy period, with Frimpong not far behind. The Dutchman could also cover on the right wing once Mo Salah departs for AFCON on December 15.

Liverpool will be hoping both full-backs stay injury-free for the remainder of the campaign. Bradley has already missed 59 matches since the start of last season, while Frimpong has endured two lay-offs since arriving from Bayer Leverkusen in the summer.

Fingers crossed their injury numbers don’t increase again before May.
