Tottenham intend to stand by Thomas Frank despite growing pressure on his role after a poor run of results.

Former Spurs and Man United chief scout Mick Brown, who remains well-connected in football, told Football Insider that the revamped Spurs board still plan to support Frank even amid rising unrest. This follows a 13 November report from Football Insider stating that the board continued to back the manager despite early doubts.

Spurs’ recent 2-1 defeat to Fulham means they have now managed just one win in their last seven matches across all competitions, with their home form particularly troubling. Many Tottenham fans have called for Frank’s dismissal, but those demands may be ignored.

Brown noted earlier this month that the fanbase has turned against Frank, which would previously have signalled the end for a manager. However, he believes the current board are determined to show stability and keep faith in Frank for now.

He admitted the Fulham loss was another major setback but stressed that the board are not planning to sack him and hope he can quickly turn the situation around. Supporters, he added, are frustrated with both results and performances, placing extra pressure on the manager.

Frank pushing for January backing

Brown also revealed that Frank wants significant squad changes in January to help revive Tottenham’s season. However, there are question marks over how much support he will receive in the upcoming window.

Despite strong finances, Spurs’ summer activity raised doubts about their willingness to spend. On 25 November, Football Insider reported that the club plans to target a striker and a winger as priority additions in January.

Frank is expected to request more reinforcements to shape the squad to his vision, but while the board may support him publicly, the extent of their financial backing remains uncertain.
