Tottenham ramp up their pursuit of £65m Premier League winger as the January window approaches

Tottenham Hotspur have received a major development in their pursuit of a high-profile left-winger as the January transfer window approaches.
Antoine Semenyo’s Bournemouth contract contains a £65m release clause, and the 25-year-old is expected to be one of the most in-demand players next month. Reports throughout the autumn have suggested that Semenyo is Tottenham’s priority target, though some sources have claimed Liverpool currently lead the race, with Manchester City also showing strong interest.
Spurs step up their chase for Semenyo
According to Sky Sports’ Transfer Centre, Tottenham are pushing ahead despite the strong competition and have now ramped up their efforts to secure the Ghanaian international. Thomas Frank is said to be determined to bring in a new left-winger, and Spurs are prepared to trigger Semenyo’s £65m clause to get the deal done.
Limited threat from London rivals
Sky Sports lists Liverpool and Man City as the two main clubs pursuing Semenyo. Arsenal are monitoring him but are unlikely to enter the race because they already have several options who can play on the left.
While that may ease the pressure from North London rivals, recent reports still suggest Manchester United are also keeping close tabs on the Bournemouth forward.
