Contact established: Tottenham and Liverpool now in “advanced” negotiations for a highly rated Bundesliga talent.

Tottenham are reportedly in advanced discussions with the camp of Yan Diomande, one of the Bundesliga’s brightest emerging talents.

According to Sky Sports journalist Sacha Tavolieri, Spurs have tracked the 19-year-old for months and have recently stepped up their efforts to sign him. Thomas Frank is keen to strengthen his attack with a dynamic forward capable of breaking defensive lines, and Diomande’s profile fits that need perfectly.

Liverpool are also firmly in the race, with the report stating that the Reds view Diomande as a genuine option for their attacking rebuild. Both clubs have now made “advanced contact” with the player’s entourage.

RB Leipzig, Diomande’s current club, are aware of the growing interest but have yet to begin formal talks with either Premier League side. With his contract running until 2030, Leipzig are expected to demand a substantial fee, setting up a potential bidding battle in January.

Who is Yan Diomande?
Diomande has rapidly risen through the European football ranks. Born in Abidjan, Ivory Coast, he took an unusual path, honing his talent at the DME Academy in the United States before joining CD Leganés in Spain.

After impressing in La Liga, his release clause was activated by RB Leipzig in July 2025 for around €20 million. He has since made a strong impact in the Bundesliga, producing 4 goals and 4 assists in his first 14 matches.

Capable of playing across the front line but most effective on the left wing, Diomande stands out for his blistering pace, confident dribbling, and direct attacking style. He recently earned his first senior caps for Ivory Coast, solidifying his reputation as one of the world’s most exciting young prospects.
