Liverpool “make significant move regarding Mo Salah” after his contentious comments

Liverpool are reportedly preparing to take firm action against Mohamed Salah after his explosive remarks in the aftermath of the 3–3 draw with Leeds United.

Saturday’s match brought more frustration for Arne Slot’s side, as they surrendered a 2–0 lead at Elland Road. Hugo Ekitike’s quickfire brace put Liverpool in control, but a rash challenge from Ibrahima Konaté opened the door for Leeds to mount a comeback and ultimately rescue a point.

But the disappointing result was only the start of Liverpool’s problems. The situation escalated when Salah – benched for the third consecutive game – openly criticised both the club and manager Slot in a fiery post-match interview.

Now, with a crucial Champions League showdown against Inter Milan looming, Liverpool have reportedly settled on their response to Salah’s comments.

Ahead of Tuesday’s trip to the San Siro, the club are said to have made the decision to exclude Salah from the travelling squad entirely. According to French journalist Fabrice Hawkins, both Slot and the Liverpool hierarchy have agreed that the forward will not be part of the matchday group and will not travel to Italy.

Speaking after the Leeds draw, Salah revealed that his relationship with Slot had abruptly deteriorated in recent weeks for reasons he claimed he did not understand. The 33-year-old described his situation at the club as unacceptable, accusing Liverpool of “throwing him under the bus” and hinting that a January exit could be on the table—just months after extending his contract for two more years.

Slot has yet to respond publicly to Salah’s outburst, but he is expected to address the situation during Monday’s press conference ahead of the Inter clash.
