Arne Slot delivers encouraging signs to Mo Salah in the wake of his recent outburst.
Liverpool boss Arne Slot has offered a small ray of optimism amid the growing rift between the club and Mohamed Salah, suggesting that the door to reconciliation is still open despite their very public fallout.
The forward has been left out of the squad to face Inter Milan in the Champions League after tensions escalated.
Following the 3-3 draw with Leeds United, Salah openly admitted that his relationship with Slot had broken down and accused the club of turning against him.
Salah has already been benched for the last three Premier League games, a decision that has frustrated the Egyptian star.
After breaking his silence and placing blame on both Slot and the club, the manager was pressed in his press conference about whether Salah could still return to the team or if the situation was beyond repair.
Slot responded, via Fabrizio Romano:
“I’m a firm believer that there is always a RETURN for a player.”
Despite his outburst, Salah has been handed a pathway back into the squad — but it will now be up to him to mend the relationship.
Whether the winger even wants to do that, or if he has already decided to move on, remains uncertain.
The situation has turned chaotic for Liverpool, especially considering they lifted the Premier League title just months ago. A number of key players — including Salah, Virgil van Dijk and Ibrahima Konaté — have all seen their form collapse at the same time, and Slot has struggled to find solutions.
The spotlight will now be firmly on Salah in the coming weeks to see if he can reintegrate into the squad and rediscover the level he once consistently produced
